Eczema Causes - What causes Eczema? - Although already understood enough about the causes of eczema, there are some questions that scientists have not been able to respond. Seborrheic eczema is caused by the immune system to react to a fungus called Malassezia appearing in Sebaceous skin area (scalp, eyebrows, behind the ears, on the sides of the nose, chest and back in males, especially if they are hairy). The exact reason of why the body reacts to this fungus is not yet known.
